The latest generation of mill/turn machines from Europe blurs the boundaries between traditional lathes and machining centres. They are not simply lathes with spindles in certain tool positions, but true multi-axis hybrids that can produce complex parts requiring both milling and turning operations in one cycle, offering a ‘one machine only’ production solution, even for complex components from the medical and aerospace sectors, or for entire part families.

With large tool magazines, counter spindles and multiple turrets working in the cut simultaneously, current mill/turn machines can reduce cycle times dramatically, whilst still producing exceptionally high-quality work to finely controlled tolerances and finishes.  All Burkhardt + Weber MCX T type machines are equipped with a torque table to provide effective machining in milling and turning mode.
